Meanwhile in Oklahoma....

Never forget that no matter how bad our wingnuts up here may be, whether they're part of the Blogging Tories or the guy with the depressing TV ratings, they'll never be as bad as the ones south of the border:
During a debate over affirmative action, Oklahoma state Rep. Sally Kern (R) said that minorities earn less than white people because they "didn't want to work hard in school," according to KOCO-TV.

Said Kern: "We have a high percentage of blacks in prison, and that's tragic, but are they in prison just because they are black or because they don't want to study as hard in school? I've taught school, and I saw a lot of people of color who didn't study hard because they said the government would take care of them."

Kern added that women earn less than men because "they tend to spend more time at home with their families."  She later apologized for her remarks.
Mhm, I would expect her to apologize. But this is seriously the 6th or 7th quote I've seen come out of Oklahoma state Republicans that makes my head spin, and that's just in the past two months. It's bad enough they have Trump spouting his nonsense, that their fiscal gonads are about to fall, and that you have special interest reign over the entire operation, Democrat or Republican, they seriously, seriously, do not need Representative Kern to continue on about "lazy minorities."

At least our wingnuts are ready to be humbled.
