It's do or die tomorrow

Stephen Taylor, Conservative blogger and general sycophant, says that some Liberal MPs have said they may just end up skipping the vote on Mark Holland's motion to squash this long-gun registry debacle tomorrow.

If this is true, then tomorrow, the Liberal Party should expect to spend a long time in Opposition. The simple fact is that even one of those MPs not showing up, or switching their vote, could jeopardize the entire Liberal Party of Canada, its status as a viable Opposition, and Michael Ignatieff's position as leader. The stakes are none lower than complete and utter implosion of the Party, just when we were starting to get back into our stride.

So, Liberal MPs - no pressure. Just show up and do your goddamn job.

  1. Bob Rae hasn't been seen or heard from since Parliament has resumed. Yesterday 18 Liberal MPs failed to show up, even though they were explicitly told to be there.

This doesn't bode well. At all.

  2. I have faith. Might be shattered by tomorrow, but for now, I have it.

Parliament only came back yesterday. Rae's been in Nepal for a UN seminar, he's back tomorrow. Nice cut & paste from the Flogging Bories forum Glenn ...kinda sucks to hear the rest of the story huh?
