Lib Dems move into second place

YouGov, a British pollster which essentially churns out polls every single day, has shown that the Liberal Democrats, Britain's perennial third-party with a social liberal bent, surpassed Labour and is within striking distance of the Conservatives. This comes after an amazing debate performance for Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg.

However, that doesn't mean they'll move into second place in seats. Though they'll win the most seats they've had for almost a century, they'll still be the third party in Parliamentary terms. Instead, Labour will end up staying in government, with the Conservatives not far behind in seats.

But it will be an important moral victory, and indeed will prove that the Liberals aren't quite dead in Britain after all.
